Martin’s New Oxford Hardware, Inc. is located on Route 30, ten minutes from the historic area of Gettysburg, PA.  The small town of New Oxford gathers close to 5000 people at its annual antique market in June. The town’s hardware store has been located in New Oxford’s beautiful old-fashioned circle for over 67 years.
It is over 48 years that the Martin family acquired the hardware business. Steve Martin, current owner and president, had a life-long dream to have a hardware business that served a community of homeowners, industrial and municipal accounts, as well as farm trade.

After attending Walsh College in Ohio, Steve and his parents moved east from the Pittsburgh area to purchase the store in 1974 from Bob and Nora McEvers. Steve is grateful that his parents helped make this life-long dream a reality. After becoming established for a year, Steve married Sandy and later had two children, Caitlin and Alyssa. Steve’s dad Bill continued to work in the store for over 35 years. Although he is no longer with us, Steve and his family will be eternally grateful for this help and guidance.
Martin’s is pleased to have the following part-time employees as part of our hardware family: Ron Boring, Mitch Diviney, Mario Iocca, and Larry Worley. All of our employees are great assets to the store and community. Our full-time employee, Bill Bechtel, has retired. We wish Bill well and thank him for his many years of service.
